Busbars: Conventional and Advanced Topologies

From rigid to fully flexible high voltage interconnections manufactured to meet the quality expectations of the toughest industries in the world.
Every busbar topology may be integrated with various technologies and features to improve safety, ease of assembly, improve the performance of the busbars and remove nonvalue add processes at our customers.

Over moulded or Assembled Busbars

From conventional busbars to complex busbars assemblies with integrated EMC suppression, voltage tapping and active cooling.

  • Thermal runaway protection integration

3D CNC bent Busbars

Near zero metal waste process to make long interconnections in the battery pack feasible and cost effective.

  • Conductor material grades: Copper & Aluminium
  • Conductor cross section: Up to 200 mm² cross section
  • Insulation Material: PA12 and PEEK
  • +130°C operating temperatures

Laminated Busbars

Ideal for improved thermal cooling and tight packaging spaces. Integration of additional components such as flux concentrators is also feasible.

  • Conductor material grades: Copper, Aluminium
  • Insulation Material: PET or PEN insulation
  • +130°C continuous operating temperatures

Flexible and Flexi Rigid Busbars

Multilayered flexible busbars which can be customised to different layer thicknesses, depending on the flexibility required, and overall busbar thickness. The flexible element may also be electrically connected to a rigid conductor to form a flexi rigid assembly.
Depending on the application and volume various insulation materials may adopted from shrink tubing to TPU/TPV overmoulding.

Complex mechatronic assemblies

IMT produce complex mechatronic assemblies; a mixture of overmoulded stamped busbars and leadframes with the addition of inserts and electrical components. Produced to operate in environments such as transmissions, Inverters, and battery modules.
